In the final edition of our Destination COP30 newsletter, you can check out what made it into and what was left out of the document approved by 195 countries in Belém.
Known as the Belém Package, it shows progress on important topics such as just transition, adaptation financing, trade, and gender. However, it caused frustration due to the absence of any mention of fossil fuels, a subject that was extensively addressed and championed by the Brazilian government throughout the conference.

With the conclusion of the COP, one thing becomes clear: decisions and discussions about the climate crisis are far from over.
